Today I wanted to share with you some of the books i had been reading that inspired my practice, inspired me as a person and even changed my life.
I have always been a little apprehensive when I heard a person say that a book changed their life. I didn’t have that experience. Yes, I have always loved reading and I admired and been inspired by some books and characters, but I could never say that a particular book changed my life or helped me change the course of life.
I wanted to share with you a list of books that inspired me and changed my life for the better. These helped me become a better person and put me on the track to live a life that I have always wanted. I hope you will give these a try and maybe become inspired by them to make the first steps to change your life.
- With the first book I am sharing with you a lady that has inspired me to live the life of my dreams. As soon as I started reading her book I said to myself I want to be fearless like Tao. She inspires me with her life, with the drive to experience all there is to experience and not to wait for tomorrow or for the “one day”. There is no one way, the moment in life is now! We have to capture each minute, each moment we have available in this world. Don’t be afraid to try new things, it’s never too late and you are never too old! Just find what brings a smile to your face and ignites your soul. What are you passionate about? Don’t waste your time in situations that do not server you. Live your life! I invite you to read the ‘Dancing Light“ by Tao Porchon Lynch. I am sure the book will leave you feeling inspired and on fire to start living the life of your dreams.
- The very first book that really changed my life and inspired me to take the yoga teacher course was “Yamas and Niyamas“ by Deborah Adele. I can not speak enough about the power of this book. I do have to mention that to fully grasp this, you have to be ready. You have to be ready to face yourself, your habits, your thoughts, your inner conversations. You have to be willing to let go of all your old patterns and allow your true Self to shine through. This book will make you question how you existed, how you interacted with others and will give you the tools to become a better you. I recommend you give this one a try!
- I am currently finishing the book “The Wisdom of Yoga“ by Stephen Cope. I really enjoy this book as it guides you through the Yoga Sutras, in a way that you can easily relate to their application in your daily life. It makes the Yoga philosophy and terminology accessible in a way that any person can understand. Reading through the examples that other people lived through makes the sutras relatable and you can see how it applies to your life as well.
