I know that for many getting a nutritional breakfast can be tricky. Often it’s a matter of not having enough time to prepare a tasty and filling meal.
Today I wanted to share one of my favorite to go breakfasts. It’s literally done in just a few minutes and can be enjoyed on the go.
Oatmeal can be prepared in just 3 minutes. I like to add cinnamon to mine in place of sugar or honey. The brand I can recommend is Irish Oatmeal. You can make cook it on the stove top or in the microwave. I make mine with water, but almond or coconut milk would be tasty as well.
I measure half a cup of oats put it in a bowl with water and cook it in the microwave. I add my favorite fruits, some nuts and voila.
Oats are low in sugar, but are a decent source of protein and iron. Half a cup has 4 grams of protein and 8% while the recommended serving size has 150 calories. (this is information found on the box, but I thought I’d share for those of you who are interested in giving oatmeal a second look)
